Many ethnic groups have settled in Nanticoke and contributed to its history. They often preserved their cultural hertitage and traditions through their churches and through the formation of social organizations such as the Polish Falcons.  Many of the churches today still offer ethnic foods at their church picnics. Saint Faustina has a Polka Mass as part of its summer picnic. Nanticoke was home to many Polish polka bands.

In addition to building Transfiguration of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church (1912), Ukrainian resident had choirs, bands, dramatic clubs, dance groups, youth groups, fraternal organizations, sports teams and a literary society. They sponsored concerts, trips and "Ukranian Days" celebrations throughout the 1930s-1960s. In 1964 the Holy Transfiguration dance troupe was awarded "Best Entertainers of the Day" at the World's Fair in New York.
